Addison's Deer Hunt, Dec 2005

Meet Addison
Well let me start by saying, WOW! We always say the Lord works in mysterious ways, but he was truly at work with this one! Ya'll meet Addison.Last year at this time Addison was having surgery to remove a brain tumor that was causing him to have severe brain seizures. The first part of next year he'll return for more surgery. He is a vibrant 7 yr old boy. He still has the seizures but hopefully this next operation will help with those. The tumors will always be something he'll have to watch closely and deal with the rest of his life. I (Tony) met Addison's father at a Halloween cook out and we knew we had to get Addison on one of our hunts. We had originally tried to get him on a hunt in South Dakota, but the distance would be too great and other things came into play. I was contacted in late summer by a man (Richard)with property outside Hazlehurst that wanted to donate a hunt. We talked and I told him I would get back with him when/if we found someone. He called the week after Katrina hit and I knew there was something special about this man and the hunt would be the same. I was correct! After hunting that morning (24 low) we were sitting around Richard's club house and someone asked to shoot the rifle a little before that afternoon hunt. Addison's dad (Randy) had just gotten the rifle the night before (had a lot of trouble finding something Addison could shoot by himself). After a lot of trial and error we found a rifle we thought Addison could shoot by himself. The night before Randy sighted it in and Addison shot it once. Good thing we checked the sights. It was shooting about 10 inches high. We made the adjustments and the evening hunt was ready! Well, I'll let the pictures below tell the tale. "

Addison and his dad
All involved were very emotional! Addison told me he loved me that night and I'll never forget it as long as I live. Three grown men where broken down and moved by that evening hunt, but none were more excited than the BUCK KILLER, ADDISON!! We are also going to have it mounted for Addison! Thanks to all sponsors that make these things happen!"
