Chelsey's Deer Hunting Trip Dec.,2007
"A Hunt Above" was contacted about a deer hunt for a special girl, her name is Chelsey.
Chelsey is a 10 year old that has Type 1 Diabetes and is on an insulin pump. She was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of four.
She lives in Bristol, Va.
She is in the 5th grade and enjoys fast pitch softball and volleyball, but softball being her favorite.
She had a wish for a deer hunt, so we took her hunting in MS.
She came with her dad,(Kenny), mom,(Crystal) and 8 year old sister (Kendra).
They arrived Sat. afternoon (12/29/2007)
We tried hard to get Chelsey on a deer, but she was a little ill and had a cough. She was given a cough silencer to try to help conceal the coughing, but during the day and a half of hunting it was to much and no deer presented itself. She was still happy and had a wonderful time playing with my 10 year old daughter as well. We consider this a successful hunt even though no deer we harvested.
